And so, after many months of intensive thinking, blogging and workshopping, our Leverhulme Trust-sponsored artists’ residency at the University of Southampton comes to an end. Many thanks to Nick Jennings and the ORCHID research team as well as Paul Virilio scholars John Armitage and Ryan Bishop for helping us to focus our thinking around how emergency services might respond to a global disaster. We developed four future disaster scenarios and plan to take one of them forward as the basis for an artist’s film, which will be shown at John Hansard Gallery on the University of Southampton campus next year. We will share the story of our residency at the next ORCHID all-hands meeting in September and look forward to seeing many familiar faces there. In the meantime, we wish everyone the best of luck with future research. Au revoir!
